A Beginner’s Guide to Trade.io

In my last post, I introduced Trade.io generally, and I made it clear that Trade.io is a financial service firm that deals with trading, and services like consultancy and investment on the blockchain. You can read my blog to see my previous review.

This review will focus on the nitty-gritty of trading on Trade.io, not leaving the unique features of the trading platform. These unique features include the flexible interface, trading, security features, trading tools and customer service. You can visit Trade.io

Sign up/ Registration on Trade.io

Creating account on Trade.io is quite simple. The sign in/registration link is at the top right of the Trade.io homepage, you can also start sign up by clicking on the exchange website. Register your preferred email ID for the platform. Fill in the Email ID / Username / Password / Reconfirm Password. You will be on a waiting list and will be provided with a queuing detail. Once account is opened, trading can begin.

Verification of Account

Accounts are to be verified before users can withdraw from the platform. This is in compliance to the regulatory policies. All users are to verify their account. In other to verify account, KYC (Know your customer) procedure is required. Documents for verification can be uploaded to the site by clicking the profile link. Once on the profile page, an area to upload documents can be found beneath the profile info.

The documents needed to verify KYC procedure are based on the type of account registered by the user. On Trade.io trading platform, users can create two type of accounts which are Individual and Institutional account.

KYC documents needed for individuals are:

  • Government issued picture ID (This can be either Passport, Citizen Card, Drivers licence, etc)
  • A selfie of the user holding the government issued ID.
  • Form A
  • Proof of Residence of the user. (This includes; Bank statement, Credit card statement, Tax assessment, Phone, television or internet bill, Energy provider bill, Mortgage statement, Certificate of voter registration, Correspondence between you and a government authority) This document must include the user’s name, First name, Surname, Current Address and Date (must not be older than 3 months).

KYC documents needed for institution are:

  • Government issued picture ID (Passport, Citizen Card, etc)
  • A selfie holding the government issued ID
  • Forms B, D and K
  • Proof of Residence
  • Proof of Corporate entity (Scan or copy of a company document from commercial register, notarized founding documents).

Deposit/Withdrawal

Unlike other crypto trading platform, Trade.io do not charge for deposit into the platform, there Is no minimum deposit into the platform. Users can currently fund their Trade.io accounts with Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC), Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and TIO. When depositing it is advisable that the users check carefully as crypto assets sent to wrong address cannot be recovered. Currently, Trade.io is not accepting fiat currently.

Withdrawal can be done once KYC registration is completed and verification has been approved. Withdrawal can be done from the balance widget or clicking the balance link. Withdrawal fees differ according to the coin being withdrawn.

Bitcoin - Minimum amount of 0.002 - Fee 0.0005 BTC
Ethereum -Minimum amount of 0.02 - Fee 0.01 ETH
Litecoin - Minimum amount of 0.02 - Fee 0.01 LTC
Bitcoin Cash - Minimum amount of 0.002 - Fee 0.001 BCH
TIO - Minimum amount of 10 - Fee 5 TIO
