DACHAU CONCENTRATION CAMP

It is the first concentration camp opened in Germany, located in an abandoned munitions factory in Dachau ,about 16 km from the German City Munich.Opened in 1933 by Heinrich Himmler, its main purpose was to imprison Jews, German and Austrian Criminals and opponents of the Nazi regime
Altogether 41500 prisoners were murdered here.

In the Dachau Concentration camp prisoners were divided in to different categories. Each category was given a different colored badge. Jews were given yellow colored badge.

Dachau Concentration Camp is the only one that existed for the full 12 years of Hitlers dictatorship. The torture and murder of prisoners continued until it was liberated by American troops on April 29,1945.

My tour to Dachau Concentration Camp was indeed an amazing and chilling tour. Visiting a Nazi concentration camp is one of the most important thing I did in my tour around Europe.
I advise everyone to visit this place and see for yourself the human torture that took place.
Dachau can never be erased from German history and even from my memory.
