In my opinion, higher education is extremely overpriced. At the same time, I don't think higher education should be completely free. Just reasonably priced with decent competition and that doesn't put students for decades of debt payments. In the US, you can't get out of student debt even if go bankrupt and file for bankruptcy.
Spinwheel is trying to help people to pay off their student loans as quickly as possible. Spinwheel is an app and a debit card. It is free to sign up and they don't have any fees.
Spinwheel debit card acts like a credit card and lets you earn credit rewards that can be used to pay for your student debt. They also work with merchants to get your merchant rewards. The app shows which retailers offer reward points to help you pay off your student debt. I like the idea. Also, family members can help out by linking their cards and let you earn rewards.
Another option they offer is rounding up transactions, so you can pay a little at a time towards your debt.

Having great finances is better for everyone whether you have student loans or not. I prefer solutions that teach people to fish than give them fish. Apps can manage difficult tasks with much ease without having to resort to professional help which is going to cost you more.
One of the downside of debit cards (except for the ones like Crypto.com card) is that you are not really getting any rewards/cashback for spending. Spinwheel is free to join and you can have many benefits that are normally reserved for credit cards. Being FDIC Insured is another plus.
I wonder if there is a version for those who are not in debt or if you can keep getting rewarded even after you have paid your debt.

Higher education is definitely constly and financial support is required to pursue. This is nice hunt to help student come out of debt.

It must be distressing to have to study and in passing know that you were in debt for a long time.
So the concept and the importance of this help system to pay off student debt seems extraordinary to me.

There is definitely a problem with the current system. People go to school so that they can get a job that will pay them enough to allow them to pay off the debt they incurred from going to school... It doesnt make a lot of sense.

Where was this thing ten years ago when I was trying to eliminate my wife and I's student debt. It is such a big expense and there are so many rules tied to it. It can be a real mess to deal with sometimes. We were lucky that our debt was pretty small. I can't imagine how some of the people get by today with student loan debt in the six figure range. This is a really great innovative project that while hopefully help a lot of people. Nice hunt.
Students will love this. I have read how students loan have ruined the career of some that had to take many years to pay back. This will be helpful
