Travel Blog Munich to Italy #11
Hello my fellow Steemians
As promised, here is the record of our cycle tour through Italy.
We took a rest day in Trento but moved over into the Grand Hotel because the other place was sh*t. It’s only a bit more expensive but a million times better.
But we’re not being lazy, we wanted to do a little round trip up the hills to the next village.
It starts out nicely, the weather is fine but soon the road gets steep and there is no more cycle track. We have to switch to the road and it gets steeper still, we get honked at because we create an obstacle and after around forty minutes we give up and roll back downhill.
All in all I don’t advise riding on busy roads especially uphill. The Italians know how to drive but they are impatient and will try to overtake you even if it’s risky with oncoming traffic.
For the rest of the day we roll through the city and eat cakes and ice cream
The next day we start with beautiful sunshine on the long tour to the Lake Garda. The first stretch is a reasonably flat cycling track and runs beside the river Adige but also relatively unexciting. Once we’re past Rovereto it gets more beautiful with every kilometre and also a few degrees warmer too.
The last steep ascend goes astonishingly well, (seems all this cycling has a training effect after all) and then we get our first breathtaking view over the whole lake.
We take a few photos and then it goes downhill in one short crazy steep downhill rush. Minutes later we reach Torbole and check into the Hotel del Garda. Our room is clean bright modern and the first thing we do is..shower! And then we open our complementary bottle of champagne because we deserve it!

Hey... I'm Italian - and yes we can drive...
and yes, we are impatient...
But we won't run you over!
Unless of course - you cut us off!
hahahahah
Hahaha, yeah, you guys can drive, I’m the living proof, I survived my trip!
