LOVE TO THE PLANET: ACTIVITIES TO TEACH THIS VALUE TO CHILDREN
Much is heard about how important it is to leave a better planet for children, but we must remember that as important as that is to leave children more aware for the planet.
The 22nd of April is the International Day of Planet Earth. Created in 1970 by the American Senator Gaylord Nelson, the date has the objective of reminding society about the environmental concerns of the planet.
Teach children to love and respect the environment Simple everyday attitudes that can make a big difference!
Put the classroom teaching into practice and make all those cares become a celebration with a great gymkhana in which the children become the heroes of the planet. 🙂
Celebrate Earth Day with 5 activities to teach love to love the planet
- Plant trees together
A single tree can absorb a ton of carbon dioxide during its life. If the school does not have enough garden, you can collect glasses or soda bottles for children to plant.
- Make organic compost
Organic waste can be recycled to make fertilizer that nourishes plants, teaches your students how to make a compost and what it is used for.
- Cleaning days
Invite your students to walk to a natural park or plaza in your area, load bags and containers to collect and classify the garbage, clean the place, taking care that the children use the proper implements. With this activity he teaches the little ones to love and care for the planet.
- Make an ecological parade.
Students parade through the main streets of their community displaying banners and images of nature, carrying the message of the preservation of the environment and the appreciation of the natural heritage
- Movie Day.
Films and drawings that show protective characters of forests and animals can encourage this same action in children.

Looking after the environment, planting trees and cleaning up rubbish are all amazing things that we can encourage out children to do for both theirs and the earths future.
Of course, @hopehuggs, will help them to understand the value of the things that surround them, and that it is not difficult to do it in collaboration among them, besides learning to socialize with a common conscience, which is important for them, Thank you for reading.

These are some great ideas. I really like teaching the kids how to make organic compost. This reminds me of the year where I taught grade 3 and I had a worm compost in my classroom. We would take all out organic waste and blend it up into "worm" smoothies. It was amazing how much soil was produced through the year.
@gene20 I really like your post especially the ecological parades great creativity! In the school where we work, but we have traveled with parcartas, we have not taken that idea.
