in #steemiteducation6 years ago (edited)

This class is based on the criterion of teaching elementary school children in the Spanish language, who will learn to use the following punctuation marks in an appropriate way, respecting the learning criteria that may exist in English or in other languages.

Let us begin ...
Today we will study the following:

* Ellipsis (...)

* Question Mark (¿?)

* Exclamation Mark (!)

* The Paréntheses () and/or Brackets []

* Quotation marks (".")

Ellipsis (...)

These punctuation marks can be used in three cases. Let's see the following example:

Shorten predictable texts
  • The one that gets up early ...
  • They are also used to eliminate unnecessary information.

They are used to indicate the elimination of a section, the interruption or to give an idea of the continuity of what was being discussed:

Examples:

b) And then, when I saw her, there came a feeling of joy, peace, happiness ...
c) I really liked the new house, but the patio ...

Question Mark (¿?)

The question mark is used to:

A) Ask direct questions:

Do you want to go with us to the movies?

Do you want to participate at the end of the year party?

B) To indicate surprise, express displeasure or attitude of expectation before a certain situation:

Examples:

  • What? I do not think you've done that! (attitude of indignation)

  • I did not expect him to receive such praise! Do I deserve all this? (Surprise)

  • What will be my location in the result of the contest? Is it the same as I imagine? (expectation)

Question marks are placed at the beginning and end of the sentence. Let's see this simple example:

Did you go to school last week?

In English it is only used at the end of each question, but in the Spanish language it is used at the beginning and at the end, to see the same example:

Did you go to school last week?

As mentioned at the beginning, the teaching criteria of each country are respected.

Exclamation marks !

Exclamation marks are used to express emotional expressions or draw attention to a text. These are placed at the beginning and end of a sentence. Let's see the following expressions:

Examples:

• Yes!
• Sit down!
• How delicious is the soup!

The Parentheses () or Corchétes []

The parentheses ()

Parentheses are punctuation marks in the form of half moons that are used to add additional information to texts, such as dates, places, data, among other things. Here we will show you a simple example:
In my old house there were many butterflies and bees.

Brackets []

They are used to frame or highlight a reflection, include a parallel comment or adapt to an explanation or definition.

Example: The French Restaurant

"It was a French restaurant [so French that it was only in France] we sat down and had lunch and near our usual table, and right next to it sat, alone, a blond man" that we discovered was [Don Luis Castello Veríssimo] Owner of the Famous restaurant.

The quotation marks " "

Quotation marks should be used whenever you are going to open and close sentences.

Observe the example:

"Sir ... look, see: the most important and beautiful thing in the world, is this: that people are not always the same, they always change, they tune or tune, more truth, it's what life taught me ... I am glad.

Appointments are used at the beginning and end of a textual citation.

For example.

Pedro said "Yes, tomorrow, we will surely go to the field" Ricardo larez "with the team to play football"
The film that premieres tomorrow at the movie theater "War Room" I have recommended.
