Happy afternoon my dear gardeners, I hope that everyone is very well today I am here to talk about one of the activities that I have been doing to my plants and I wanted to show you the step by step so that you can do it too.

I don't know if you had heard of grafts. This is a technique that consists of joining two parts of different types of plants so that they can be welded together and stick together as a single plant. That is the general concept of grafts.

It also consists of having a trunk or one or a base that serves as a support to place a cactus of a smaller size in which the root part is cleared, leaving the fleshy part of both so that these types of plants can join the cacti. they are grafted very easily with a great variety of species

This type of grafting technique is a way of reproducing plants and is also used to form new species of plants. In the case of cacti, it is very common to make grafts that can help us obtain cacti with flowers and a great diversity of colors to any grower has direct specializations in these techniques, and for my part I use it as a form of hobbies to do in my garden.

The first thing that we must take into account when carrying out this type of activity is a sharp blade that can be a rope or in my case use adhesive tape the thickest trunk that will serve as our base and a smaller cactus to place it on top .

After having finely disinfected the blade with alcohol or passing it through the hot girl in the kitchen, we proceed to remove the upper part of the trunk of the cactus decapitating it safely, we can see that by removing part of its bark we see the interior of a light green color with dark green hues.

After I removed that decapitation, the smallest cactus came from the captain, which is the one that will remain like a crown on top of our base, we also disinfected them and if we remove the part of the roots, about a quarter of the entire contour of the plant Once we remove it, we stick it on the trunk so that the two parts that we are removing are joined. We will use part of the adhesive tape, pressing it towards the base of our pot so that it is well fixed and does not move anywhere.

It is very easy to carry out this technique, particularly I want to carry out it to reproduce more specimens of this type of cactus to know that both parts are glued, we must leave it like this for about 15 days and after that time we can remove the adhesive tape and our plant goes to grow healthy and strong with the proper care we give it.

Here, as in the last photograph, I leave you with a graft that was carried out previously, this has been approximately 2 years old and you can see the number of children that have sprouted since this technique was carried out, it is very satisfying to see the results that we can achieve in our garden when we have perseverance and dedication.

I hope you have a beautiful day my dear gardeners and your plants grow healthy and strong.

Awesome, very helpful post. I didn't know you could do it with cacti. You are like an experimental biologist who grows new types of cacti. Thank you very much for your beautiful post!

Thank you for your support, yes, with plants we can be very versatile, always with great care and technique so as not to mistreat them.
