The meaning of Christmas/Homework Steemiteducation
Christmas
It is a religious celebration that commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, and is celebrated on December 25 of each year, Christmas is celebrated in many places and in very different ways, one of the current characteristics of Christmas is the increase in the consumption of food and gifts for all family and friends.
This has been the meaning for many but in my personal opinion, it is the manifestation of certain human values that during the year may not be manifested in the same way we feel in these festivities.
Values such as solidarity, union, love, peace and hope are more typical of the Christmas season.
Christmas presents various traditions and symbols such as the Christmas tree, the songs of Christmas carols, Christmas cards, the manger, nativity scene or birth, the Christmas dinners, the bells, Saint Nicolas, with the sleigh, the reindeer and the bags with toys, among others. Today, commerce has distorted Christmas, designed it as a time of compulsive shopping. The joy of Christmas is directly proportional to our ability to buy.
If there are abundant purchases and gifts as well as party and liquor, Christmas is happy. People forget that Christmas is closeness to God, adoration of the Child, choice for the poor, presence of solidarity, fraternity, freedom and peace.
That's why my dear friends I invite you this Christmas to celebrate with our loved ones no matter if the tree is missing a ball, or the lights do not turn on, if I miss the ham bread or not reached the drinks, the most important thing of these dates is the family union and feel and put into practice all those values that perhaps during the year we forget, help the need and provide a helping hand not only on these dates but throughout the year.
