Home Alone 1990 (one of my favorite movies from my childhood)
Christmas is coming, undeniably for many people, we think of Home Alone! :) I like this movie, every year I can see it 1x, 2x, 3x, this movie is cult :)
Home Alone is an American family comedy directed by Chris Columbus, released in 1990.
Synopsis
The McCallister family embarks for Paris to spend Christmas. But here it is: On the plane, Peter and Kate McCallister realize that they have left the youngest of their sons at home; Kevin, only 8 years old. Mainly tormented by his brothers and sisters, he is not only puny, careless and frightened (especially by his neighbor, the mysterious Father Marley), but also very intelligent and resourceful.
While her family tries to do something from Paris and her mother tries everything she can to get back to him, Kevin, for his part, is very happy to have gotten rid of his family, which he supports difficult and sometimes puts him away because of his position as youngest. He then tastes a quiet life, doing shopping himself and believing himself definitely alone; but he does not know that two burglars have planned to empty the house on Christmas Eve. He ends up becoming aware of the burglary and will have to thwart the plans of these two individuals to protect his home.

Around the movie
In this first opus, we can see that the family members drink a lot of Pepsi, in the second opus, we will see them drink Coke.
In the film, we can see a possible reference to the adventurers of the lost Ark of Steven Spielberg, released in 1981. In fact, when Harry burns his hand on the front door of the McCallister's house, he tries to relieve the burn. in the snow, but nevertheless retains the mark of the M on the palm; the same goes for Gestapo agent Arnold Toht, played by Ronald Lacey, who, in turn, burns himself by wishing to catch Re's Medallion in the Indiana Jones adventure.
The film Angels with Filthy Souls that Kevin is watching is not a real movie: some images with Ralph Foody were made especially for the film, parodying a real movie Angels with Dirty Faces Michael Curtiz with James Cagney, released in 1938. Kevin uses the stage to deceive the pizza delivery man, presumably for personal revenge, then Marvin, using Buzz firecrackers placed in a casserole, to prevent him from returning break. On the other hand, during their stay in Paris, Kevin's family watches a real movie; it's about life is beautiful (1946) Frank Capra, a Christmas classic in the United States.
Although they have no common scene, this film marks the reunion between John Heard and Daniel Stern six years after CHUD.
The Breakers Flowters (French rap group) were inspired by the name given by the two burglars to their band: the "breakers floats".
In the documentary De ET at Jurassic Park: The Epic of Family Cinema, broadcast on October 3, 2017 on France 4, the actor Philippe Lacheau said in an interview that he tried to reproduce the traps of the film and that they did not work in reality. He cited among other things slips on small cars, the weight of a human body being too important for a small toy of this type.
False fittings
During the family meal, the day before the start, Buzz shoves a whole slice of pizza into his mouth. When, at the change of plan, Kevin asks if his cheese pizza was ordered, not only does Buzz suddenly have another share in his right hand but, on the next shot, he is holding it with his left hand.
When Kevin first looks at the scene of the Fallen Angels, Johnny (character of the film) sends a first burst of machine gun to Snakes, it collapses, then Johnny sways another burst. Later, when Kevin passes the band to lure the pizza delivery man and Marvin, the sound of the scene reveals that Johnny makes only one long and continuous gust without interruption.
When Kevin has fun slowing down the stairs, he goes right out the front door to finish his run at the edge of the garden. But the door is much further to the left of the corner of the stairs.
When Marvin listens to Peter McCallister's phone message on the Murphy's phone, the shelf he has just emptied still contains two valuables, including a gold cup at the top right of the shelf. Two shots later, when he confirms to Harry that the McCallisters are abroad, the cup no longer appears on the shelf.
When they try to reach the cabin to catch Kevin, Harry and Marvin hang themselves by the rope, one in front of the other. Yet, as Kevin cuts the rope, the two burglars sway to the wall while hanging at the same height while Marvin is supposed to be much higher than Harry.
One of my favorite Christmas movie. I love it ;o)
