Hello friends of
#steemit from the
#steemfoods community, Today Mother's Day in Venezuela is a very special day, so the social pact forces us to attend to that being so out of this world, who gave us life, In addition to giving life to our children, to our dreams, to order the house, to prepare the food, the clothes, the children, the expenses, uff, I better not continue, because it would never end.
The fact is that we got into the kitchen, and although it is not the recipe of the recipes, it is what she likes the most, so we gave it some magical touches, to surprise her.
For the queen of the house, we prepared a homemade broaster chicken, which she always says she could eat her whole life (although with so much fat, it would not be so long), understanding that in days of radical quarantine, the ingredients are scarce and To add insult to injury, we ran out of electricity, and a Sunday rain broke out on us, which made our day of squares, but there we made the fight.
Let's see the step by step of this mother's day surprise:
We prepare our ingredients:
- 1/2 Fresh chicken
- 2 Mature tomatoes.
- 1 Medium onions.
- Sweet pepper.
- 1/2 kg of white rice.
- 1 Sausage.
- 200 grams of precooked cornmeal.
We cut the onion, tomato and chili into small cubes "both sweet and spicy" and we are going to use them like this:
Half in the chicken and another half in the rice and the dough for the arepitas.
As you can see, we do not use any type of condiments or strange sauces, all the ingredients are organic and healthy. "We must take care of the Queen".
For the rice: Sauté the sausage "in bits", chili pepper and onion in a drizzle of oil, and brown it a little, then add the rice and tan it well with the oil.
then we add the water proportionally to the amount of rice we need, a point of salt and cook over low heat.
For the chicken: In a medium container, add the minced chicken, add the chili, onion and tomato, then the flour and mix until the chicken pieces are completely covered with the mixture.
For the dough: Add 200 grams of pre-cooked cornmeal, add the rest of the chili, onion and tomato, a point of salt and knead until a soft dough is obtained, we shape it into arepitas and fry the same than our broaster chicken.
We give it the shape of arepitas and we make a hole in it to prevent them from remaining uncooked in the center.
And Voila.
Our mothers day surprise is ready.
By the time we took this photo, the power had gone out, however the surprise was ready, in addition to her gift that we bought previously.
I hope you liked my checkered post on mothers day.
