Butterfly
Butterflies are beautiful insects with colorful wings. They have four stages of development: egg, larva (caterpillar), pupa (cocoon) and adult. Butterflies are active during the day, collecting nectar from flowers with their long proboscis.
They have good navigational abilities and act as flower pollinators. With about 20,000 species, butterflies are distributed throughout the world, except Antarctica. They are a symbol of beauty, freedom and transformation. Habitat protection and reducing the use of chemicals can help conserve butterflies.
