Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

We are commanded not to have any other god before God, the Creator of heaven and earth.
Any other god apart from God Jehovah is an idol.
Worshipping it or serving it is a sin or abomination before God.
To be candid, idol worship is a great sin before God; for that, no true Christan should engage in any act of idol.
God condemns the idol worshippers; he says those who worship idols are like the idols themselves

Psalms 115:9 O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.
115:10 O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

He commented his people to put their trust in him, not in idols. If one would trace the history of idols, you will discover the lot of havoc idols have done in our land. Most of our forefathers served these idols in there various capacities. As they served them, they entered covenant with them. These brought about satanic alters; evil patterns, astral and ancestral convenient; evil and idolatry cultures which affect a lot of people today. Many claimed Christian have suffered so much. Many are struggling so much with various anointed men of God praying for them as means of breaking away from these evil succeeding generations.

How does one involves in idol worship?

There are many ways of involving in idol worship. This can be directly or indirectly. It can be directly by going to ancestral or family deity to pay homage or make some sacrifice to it. It can be involving oneself in some annual festival e.g yam festivals, cultural dance e.t.c one as well can involve himself in idol worship through burial or traditional marriages.
