If you look how many mints now offer platinum coins one can conclude that more and more stackers buy a little platinum . I do see the advantage of owning (some) platinum and the diversification effect but still have zero platinum.

Some 5 years ago I did not see many different platinum coins; you had the platinum maple and an australian platybus if you could get it at all. Then there was a Russian paladium coin with a ballet dancer I believe of which I forgot the name.

Let's look at some of the items available nowadays. There is even a freakin platinum Philharmonic I now see!

Why platinum?

Well, there were posts on this already. Turmoil in South Africa - as we speak - and relations with Russia being not what they were anymore can make the platinum price explode in the future (like steem!) . Most of the platinum is mined in S.A. and Russia you must know and auto and other industries cannot do without. I already learnt as a scolar that platinum is a katalysator in chemical reactions and used in various products like lamps.
