Medal of Honor (TV Show): I found it kind of boring

in #tv6 years ago

I think my impression of the show and the reason why I only watched very little of it before giving up likely has a lot to do with the fact that I might have been hoping that it had something to do with the video game, which I suppose it very loosely is since it is focused on war.

Maybe I just wastn't in the mood for it at the time and was also a bit annoyed that I couldn't find Fargo on Netflix so perhaps my review will be a little unfair because of that. However, i think the documentaries about war have kind of been done already so it takes something truly unusual to make hold my interest in it.

The series focuses on individuals who displayed extreme heroism in wartime and that of course is nothing to scoff at and is certainly something I admire. My distaste for these episodes is that this has already been done so many times before that it just isn't interesting to ME. I am not suggesting the production value isn't good because it IS good.

For people out there that enjoy historical military stuff this would probably be wildly entertaining. Many times I am that guy and this is why i clicked on the series to begin with (that and the name of it.) I can't explain exactly what it is that i found about this series that turned me off to it... All I can say is that I didn't really enjoy it and since I don't wand to disrespect war heroes I'll just leave it at that.

it's not you... it's me

So basically I found each presentation (which is only about 1 person in the 2 EP's i watched) to be too long. I think this can be attributed to the fact that there is very little, if any, actual video footage of the actual person in question. I mean, it's not like they KNEW the guy was going to be a war hero ahead of time. So in that regard the lack of actual footage is completely forgivable.

I would say to not take my word for it but to get out there and watch an episode or two and perhaps prove me wrong. Maybe I didn't watch enough of them but since no one episode is connected to another, it doesn't seem like the quality of one EP is dependent upon the other in any way.

Kind of boring. It looks boring indeed. Somehow most Netflix originals have slow pacing. Is there an option to watch it at 1.25x speed? 😃

i withheld the rating because people can get extra sensitive about military history. Perhaps i have been traumatized by FB :P
