'Rolly' - New Original Music - Another 20 Minute Timed Songwriting Challenge - Electronic/Instrumental + Walkthrough
So this is the result of another
silly little timed challenge, which is cool, but not my favorite thing ever. I like the bass line, and tone, but everything was a bit random. I was sort of just trying to push through, as its good practice, but didn't really have any inspirational idea to follow. However, its always good to try and just brute force things, if you have to, even if you don't like the results, as it helps me learn/grow for future tunes. I've also been altering the Ableton themes with every post, and though I wouldn't use this one to work in, it does look really nice.

Track 1 is the drums,
which stick to a really basic beat, with the snare roll/trail off thing the whole time. Tracks 2 and 3 are the synth bass parts, which have a really cool timbre. Tracks 4, 5, 6 and 7 all come in towards the beginning, and continue for most of the song. They outline our 4 chords: Dmin, Gmin, Cmaj, Gmin in various ways, with some arpeggios, and pads to just fill things up. The last 4 tracks were last minute additions, and mostly stick to root notes or 3rds of the chords, but were mostly me just trying out various sounds.
