'Spinning Jupiter' - New Original Music - A Random, Quick Creation from Last Night - Electronic/Instrumental + Walkthrough
This isn't a complete song,
and was just sort of a little play session for me last night while I was spacing out, watching TV. However, upon listening to this in the car, I think it has some solid ideas, so it'll be added to the never ending list of things I need to revisit, lol. I began with one of Ableton's Wavetable Synths, which I haven't used recently, along with a bunch of the ROLI libraries (Equator, Strobe2). I also added a few different drum kits, though I didn't spend any time altering the drum sounds, so everything is just as-is in each kit.
Listen to Spinning Jupiter here.
We have two sections,
A section (where Track 1 is used) and the B section (where Track 1, and others, cut out). Track 1 is the synth bass, which has some sidechained compression hooked up to the following track, our basic kick drum rhythm. All the subsequent tracks add more layers to these A sections, with a couple of Tracks coming in over the later A sections. The progression in the A section is straightforward, we start on our tonic of Eb (minor), to Ab, then B, and finally, Gb. In the B section, things change a bit; the bass cuts out entirely so it feels a bit more empty, which is a nice change. Track 4 provides some arpeggiated chords too, which all work decently well. There is a second arpeggiator on a synth in that part that is a bit too random, as the hits don't wind up being right on beat, but I couldn't hear that on my laptop speakers while writing.
Track 1, Bass Line.
Track 5, B section Chords.
Hope you like today's creation! Thanks for listening!
