Beef noodles to combat Canada's below zero temperature
Yes that's the beef stew my aunt and I ate one fine Saturday when the temperature was at below 15degrees Celsius inToronto, Canada
That's the menu sorry for the quality as I find it embarrassing to take pictures when others take a sneak peak at you as if you're a strange creatures. Canadians as I have experienced by far are keen in maintaining their private life as it is. So unlike in Philippines I don't take as much photos if strangers are in it.
For appetizers, they served us below. From left to right it's silk tofu, kelp and egg all boiled I assume. Healthy as expected but sort of bland. In days where the snow is blowing and pinching on your toes a little spice won't hurt.
Thats me and my aunt. We count ourselves lucky to get a table fast as in ordinary days this restaurant named Four Four South Village in 474 Tinge street Ontario is jam packed with diners wanting a taste of their Taiwanese cuisine.
From the outside you'd think it's a Japanese or Korean but to my surprise it ain't. I have never been to Taiwan so honestly I'd say their food taste like Chinese which in a way is true since Taiwan and China have a colorful history.
The inside is a different story. The place smells of food and the splash of colors is a refreshing sight considering the days it's common to have seasonal affective disorder.
The noodles wasn't really tasty to me. I had food of this category more to my liking back in Philippines but since it's a treat who am I to complain. Adding these white noodles didn't make any difference either. However, sharing stories and sharing a meal with my aunt who paid for my airfare so I can experience Canada is always a reason to celebrate.
