Perfect example of what not to do on Steemit
For everyone just starting out on Steemit this is a perfect example of what you shouldn't do.
Don't spam someone's post begging for upvotes and or follows. This normally results in getting flagged and down voted.
I have a big, forgiving heart so I won't flag the first time it happens but if the same user hits me with this a second time he/she will get a flag.
I can't stop someone else who gets annoyed by these spam comments from flagging.
My advice is DON'T DO IT!!!
I was nice and covered up the user's name but it's still on my post so anybody can see it (can't help that). You can see my polite response here too. I just can't be mean.

Nice, please upvote my posts! lol jk :-D Man there are so many people that post stuff like that and it annoys me. I don't upvote them because we don't need to beg to get upvotes. Just interact and be genuine. I agree with your post 100 percent.
Yes and thank you. It's really not difficult to find something in the post to comment about. If you're gonna beg go out on the street and leave social media.
There's an ignore button in my head for that. I have a harder time with trolls that are nerdy enough to learn crypto currency, but not actual social courtesy and these folks have been here a year! You see the one's begging are usually new or really young and are usually unaware of their annoyance, it's much harder to ignore someone past 25 years old acting like a fool to give himself self importance. 🙄 Oh and indeed you were polite in your response to the ignorance posted as a comment, I'm sure he'll soon enough learn that it's not acceptable by most.

Omg right so annoying! Sometime's I'll get some on photography and the comment will seem relevant but I can tell it's not genuine :( sigh!
Sometimes I just like to be funny in the comments but only with the users that know me.

Well they may stop when they get flagged enough. Hopefully this post will get around enough to make rhe newbies aware and keep them from making this mistake.

But serial commentators, who comment on everything, are the worst spammers. They do not have flags and go fast in reputation. So the other tip you should give is to avoid making comments on everything! Also say always upvote and resteem is like asking for the vote, but in another way ..
So true. But making too many comments deplete the voting power of the user. So yes you should space out your comments. Thank you for pointing that out.
