Achievement 4 by @gulshank : Applying markdowns
Hello everyone. I send a greeting to you, friends of the newcomer community. This time with the aim of completing my achievement 4, in which I will make use of the markers.
Next, I'll tell you a little about one of my favorite painters: Egon Schiele
Egon Schiele
Born on June 12, 1980, in the city of Tulln an der Donau, in what was the Austro-Hungarian Empire, he was one of the great exponents of austrian expressionist sculpture at the beginning of the twentieth century. Disciple of the great pictorial exponent Gustav Klimt, if in something his work passes to posterity, it is by the audacity and crude sensualism with which he retarataba to his models, which led him to be labeled as scandalous and subversive (Hitler himself labeled him as "degenerate" what is highlighted when seeing his work is the neuralgic drama that his works express, a deep restlessness and sorrow.
Two are the clearest aspects in his work, on the one hand, we have that particular conception that he had of the naked body, which he painted with a freedom and an infrequent explicitness in the major painting, often in openly sexual positions, almost always with bodies with unusual paleness, with a physical complexion of great thinness, sometimes reaching to capture cadveric bodies (it should be noted that Schiele got sick easily); on the other hand, his self-portraits, countless portraits, in much of his paintings the male model was himself. In them forced and strange pusturas were painted, with an excessive mannerism, looking for in the unusual expressiveness of the form, the most direct and profound way of reaching the pathos, the internal and fundamental feelings of oneself.
The critic Manuel Antón describes it this way:
What in Klimt is an almost non-existent sensation of three-dimensionality, in Schiele is already pure illusion, a synthesis so brutal of what is represented that it stands out precisely for its nudity, for reducing to almost nothing the references to space, to the decorative, to any element that is not solely and exclusively the object of the representation. Among his most celebrated paintings are:
Self-portrait with Chinese lantern plant | 1912 | Leopold Museum |
Death and the Maiden | 1915 | Belvedere Gallery Vienna |
Two women thrown and intertwined | 1915 | Albertina Museum |
The Hermits | 1912 | Leopold Museum |
