What is Plagiarism

If we understand the meaning the Plagiarism in one word, then we can call it ‘steal’, ‘theft’ or ‘kidnap’. Now we move to it's explanation, to copy someone's information, research, work or anything without telling to the source is called as plagiarism.
Well, the question arises here that if we copy a paragraph from the internet (or from anywhere) and paste it into our work and then we make some changes in it, it will still be called plagiarism or now Is it free from theft? So it’s answer is quite simple, yes it’s known as Plagiarism. Although you’ll make some changes in it but still it’s Plagiarism.
Another thing about plagiarism is that if we copy and paste some sentence or paragraph into our work and then rearrange it to make a coherent whole, it is still known as plagiarism. Yes, we can't call it our job. Even though we are composing a paragraph by taking short sentences from various sources and then rearranging them, it is still plagiarism.

Types of Plagiarism:

There are many types of Plagiarism such as direct plagiarism, paraphrasing plagiarism, complete plagiarism, mosaic plagiarism and many more. But here, below I am going to discuss some types of plagiarism.

Paraphrasing Plagiarism:

The first and most common type of plagiarism is paraphrasing plagiarism. When a person copies someone’s paragraph and makes some changes in it in order to make it their own, is called as paraphrasing plagiarism.

Complete Plagiarism:

The second type of plagiarism is complete plagiarism. As its name implies, when a person copies the required information and pastes it into his work without any modification or change, it is called plagiarism.

Accidental Plagiarism:

Last but not least type of plagiarism is accidental plagiarism. It happens when a person does his own thing but he does not know that this information / work has already been done by someone, then it is called accidental theft.

How can we avoid Plagiarism?

We can avoid theft by providing a source link. Like if we copy a paragraph from the internet, we should give the original link of the paragraph so that whoever reads our work knows that it is not our work, we have copied it from the given link.
And if we copy the quotation of someone’s or we need to use what someone else has written or have write their exact words then we should use the quotation marks.

Citation Example:

So this was my Achievement 3. I hope I did it correctly.
