ULOG: Weh Island Underwater

Coral reefs are one of the most diverse ecosystems on earth - they provide critical habitat for a number of marine life, from fish to invertebrates. If there are coral reefs where we can witness diverse marine life.

At the end of 2004 Weh Island was hit by a Tsunami, but the existence of deep troughs in Sabang Bay was able to reduce tsunami energy, besides that, Weh Island is surrounded by coral reefs so the impact of the tsunami in Sabang is not too severe.

Even so, the devastation of tsunami energy has made the reefs destroyed and many are buried in the sand.

Sabang is known as the underwater world and is an ideal place for diving and snorkeling activities.

Terumbu karang adalah salah satu ekosistem yang paling beragam di bumi - mereka menyediakan habitat kritis bagi sejumlah kehidupan laut, mulai dari ikan hingga invertebrata. Jika ada terumbu karang disana kita dapat menyaksikan kehidupan laut yang beragam.

Di akhir tahun 2004 Pulau Weh dihantam oleh Tsunami, namun keberadaaan palung-palung dalam di Teluk Sabang mampu mereduksi energi tsunami, disamping itu Pulau Weh dikelilingi oleh terumbu karang sehingga dampak tsunami di Sabang tidak terlalu parah.

Walau demikian hempasan energi tsunami telah membuat karang-karang hancur dan banyak yang tertimbun pasir.

Sabang dikenal dengan underwater world dan tempat ideal untuk melakukan aktifitas diving serta snorkeling.
