Don’t throw those eggs shells away! There are many uses for egg shells. You can put them in your garden to enhance the soil, feed them to the chickens to provide need calcium, or even sell them on EBay at $12/lb. There are dozens of uses.

We tried composting table scraps and egg shells, but we soon gave it up. It seemed a bit too much trouble and frankly we just did not have enough to make it worthwhile. Everything now goes to the chickens except potatoes and onions.

To prepare eggs shells for the chickens, we first put the shells in water to rinse them off, and then lay them out on paper towels to dry, usually overnight. They are then crushed into small pieces and put into the feeder.

I have two feeders for calcium. One for oyster shell calcium I buy from Tractor Supply and one for egg shells. The chickens by far prefer the egg shells.

I save all the raw cooking scrapes including the egg shells, I put all that into a dual composter and then once it's ready I put it on the garden and spread it around other areas that need some compost! Just wish I had my own chickens! :-D

I have been saving them for tomato and pepper plants in the garden. I was wondering about using them around watermelon and canalope plants also.

I save my chickens' eggshells too. I use a nutribullet to grind them up. I never knew people sell them on Ebay thanks for the tip. I mainly use them in my gardens and put it in the chicken feed.

I have been reading a lot lately about eggshells in the garden; as well as coffee grounds.
I'm checking into such remedies for indoor gardening as I have some tomato plants I'm attempting to grow this winter.

Buy eggshells on eBay? No way!!! I guess they're right, you can sell ANYTHING on eBay!

I will feed them back to the chickens also but I crush until almost powder form and I also add some to every tomato and pepper ext as I plant then in the spring. Have you had any issues with chickens eating eggs?

Once in awhile they will eat an egg, but it only occurs when they accidentally break one.

Been composting them for years now. Also, I found that they can be used in concrete to strengthen the concrete! Interesting.

I've been saving egg shells, banana peels and coffee grinds from K-cups.

I think I need to get the peels and the grinds out to something. The egg shells seem fine.
