5-Minute Freewrite Prompt: The Memories Stirred Up
She could still hear the rhythm coming from the grand piano in her mind. She remembered clearly what that means. It has become part of her. The memories of the incident stayed really fresh in her mind and everytime she recalls, it still made her shivered in terror.
It was a grand party at the rich man, Mr. Ford's house. It has always been THE party everyone wanted to go, including Lydia. She was young and adventurous, wild at heart. How could she miss such an opportunity to get to know the rich?
It was a huge mansion with free flow of champagnes and everyone were dressed elegantly. She remembered clearly the grand piano was playing non-stop, serenading the guests at the centre of the hall. Lydia followed behind Bella closely. After Bella found her beau at the party, she forgot totally about Lydia and disappeared from the crowd.
Lydia was glad she finally got ditched. She got to mingle in the crowd by herself. She took some champagne and started to drown herself in it. She started to explore the house, room by room. She saw some of them had gone upstairs and she went along. That was when she discovered one of the darkest secrets.
Lydia was checking out a room that was having different portraits on the wall. She was shocked that when she accidentally pushed one of the drawings, a secret passage opened up. Following it, it led to a small door.
Upon hearing a little scream, she quietly turned the door knob of a room and saw Mr. Ford was raping one of the lady guests of the party. He looked really violent and psychotic. "That didn't look like the man who was addressing the crowd in such a gentleman manner earlier, He looks like he has lost his mind," she gasped. The victim was struggling but to no avail. Though Mr. ffordwas clearly a frail old man, he looked like he was very strong then. She did not see that coming. Lydia tried to think what she should do. She turned around and tried to run but she tripped.
Mr. Ford turned around and saw her. He came out for her, grabbed her by her feet and pulled her back into the same room. Lydia screamed. No one heard. She saw the lady was motionless on the desk.
Lydia panicked. She knew Mr. ford would do what he did to the lady to her. He pinned her down on another desk, strapped her limbs and looked at her, with that dirty look. He started to harrass her and showing her he was in control.
She tried to grab whatever her hand could reach and got a letter opener. Her hands were still not free. She had to break free. She pretended and pleaded with him to untie her, pretended she knew she had to submit and started seducing him with some words. He bought the lie and cut her free.
With all her might, she stabbed the letter opener into his chest multiple times without mercy. Blood oozing out of Mr. Ford's chest like a fountain. She did that so much that she felt she started to lose her rationale. It was done out of so much fear.
Finally, he lied there, without any movement. She knew it was over. She sighed and cried in relief. She found herself out of the passage, with blood covered hands. Everyone were terrified when she walked out. The police then came and Lydia got arrested.
And the grand piano continued to play. She could still hear the rhythm while she is now sitting in the corner of her cell. That is the rhythm of terror.

I took an extra 4 minutes to finish the story today. So sorry. I could not let the story hanging and neither I knew where the story was leading to as I was writing in the beginning.
