My Logo Contribution for Japanese Phrasebook
This contribution is a result of collaboration with the project owner who needed a logo for his open source project and my desire to help him. It's not a task requested by Utopian.

100% free and open-source Japanese Phrasebook app optimized for travel and offline usage, using data from Wikitravel.Logo Proposal
Project owner wanted anything connected to language learning and/or traveling to Japan. Torii gates I associate only with Japan. It is easily recognizable symbol. So I combined in logo design Torii and red rising sun. It is equally good for travel and study topics.
Benefits / Improvements
The purpose of my proposal was to help this open source project to get its visual identity. For this logo I used simple forms. Torii gate is easily recognizable but have unique shape. This new logo makes the project visually appealing. It unites two main ideas of the project and it can be adapted to different environments. The project owner was very pleased with the result of my work and he’s already updated the project with a new logo.Proof of Authorship
