Chrysomya megacephala

Dear Stemians,

Chrysomya megacephala, better known as the oriental latrine fly, is a member of the Calliphoridae family. It is a warm weather fly with a metallic turquoise box-like body. The fly attacks a corpse immediately after death, making it important for forensic science.
