Go Around for Charity Programs - Distribution of Ramadhan Food Packages for the Elderly and Poor Communities in North Aceh Regency and Lhokseumawe City.

BACKGROUND

Approaching the month of Ramadan which is full of wisdom and blessings for Muslims - Steem Entrepreneurs Community through the Steem Kindness program held a charity activity by distributing Ramadan food packages for the elderly and the poor. The activity was motivated by our concern with the scarcity of several basic necessities such as cooking oil that occurred in Indonesia, especially in Aceh. The increase in the selling price of basic necessities ahead of the month of Ramadan also weighed on the purchasing power of the people, especially the poor.

Responding to the conditions of people's living burdens that are getting heavier in this month of Ramadan, it is very important for us to listen to what was conveyed by the Prophet Muhammad SAW. He in his words said that "Whoever does not care about the affairs of my ummah is not from my group". Ramadan is a month full of blessings, because Allah SWT has given many virtues in this holy month, a month full of glory. Whoever does righteous deeds then he will get the priority.

Therefore, Steem Kindness For Better Life deems it necessary to carry out activities that can help the poor, by organizing the provision of basic necessities for the elderly and the poor which is held to welcome the month of Ramadan. This activity is expected to ease the increasingly heavy burden of life experienced by underprivileged groups during the month of Ramadan and Eid.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

1. Helping the society, especially for poor families, so that they can reduce the burden and be happy to welcome the month of Ramadan like people in general
2. Provide proper and healthy food for the elderly and the poor in order to be able to carry out fasting during the month of Ramadan in peace.
3. Steem Entrepeneurs Community cares about the problems that occur in society, especially for those who are less fortunate.

ACTIVITY IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE

The charity activity "Go Around for Charity" will be held in March and April 2022 by distributing Ramadan food packages for the elderly and the poor. This activity is planned in 3 stages.

The first stage of Steem Kindness provides 20 Ramadan Food Packages which will be distributed in the Syamtalira Bayu District and Syamtalira Aron District. Currently, brothers @f2i5 and @afrizalbinalka are making preparations such as buying necessary items for assistance packages and the production process of packaging packages with the Steem Logo. This charity activity is also maximized for #promosteem to the local community.

The table above is still an estimated price due to unstable market prices. Steem kindness will make a detailed and complete report when the goods needed for the assistance package have been purchased.

TARGET BENEFICIARIES

Steem Kindness works with local social workers to verify beneficiaries so that this assistance is right on target. The involvement of local social workers is because they really understand the geographical and community conditions in their working area. Steem Kindness will also coordinate with village heads and community leaders.

CONCLUSION

The increase in the price of basic necessities ahead of Ramadan and the declining family economy due to the ongoing pandemic outbreak caused social inequality in society. This condition is exacerbated by the scarcity of goods due to the hoarding of goods by wholesalers to seek profit. Until now, the government has not been able to control the price of goods properly in the market.

On April 3, 2022, Muslims will fast during the month of Ramadan until Eid al-Fitr. People who are economically capable welcome the month of Ramadan happily without worrying about the availability of sufficient food. The month of Ramadan usually decreases economic activity in agriculture and other menial jobs because Muslims carry out fasting rituals by not eating and drinking from dawn until it is time to break their fast. The majority of the poor have their main income from farming and manual labor. This condition requires caring for others to share with those who are less fortunate by providing healthy and proper food so that the poor can also have the same happiness as those who are able to welcome the month of Ramadan.

Steem Kindness has sufficient funds to procure the first phase of the Ramadan food aid package. As for the next package, Steem Kindness is in the process of raising funds. The main source of funds for Steem Kindness to date comes from the distribution of 20% rewards for the @steemkindness account. Support and assistance from the Steemit Team and Steemit Users will determine the continuation of this program until the Eid al-Fitr.
