My Actifit Report Card: august 9 2018

in #actifit6 years ago (edited)

Today I hiked to a peak called Rundtinden. This mountain is 1455 m. Because of fog and rain we had to go down around 200 m from the top. Even the fog it was a nice hike.

@harkar tracked today a total of 8188 moves/activity via Actifit Fitness Tracker.
This involved performing activity related to Walking

Always a hard decision when to turn back, especially when you're so close to the summit. I'm not experienced as a weatherman, which makes things hard. Any advice?

I observe the weather during the hike. Today it was very shifting. According to the forecast it should be better during the day, but this didn't happened when we where out. The fog and rain came in "showers" we hoped the fog around the top would disappear, that didn't happened it lay around the top the whole time, as the peaks in same heights around us. It was glimpse when the sight around the top was better, but few minutes later it got worse again. I think when it is so shifting it is better to be safe and don't go up. As general if the clouds are low, little wind and the fog came creeping through valleys one should be careful and know where you are. In a earlier post, the hike to Tverrdalsfjellet it had been a very nice day, on the top I saw the fog came creeping through the valleys almost from nowhere. We was quite quick on the top and walked down when the sight was good. An hour later it was fog from around 6oo meters and up. Maybe not a good answer but observe changes to better or worse, what is the trend when out....

Yeah, I guess you got to observe the trend and with experience you start to know how long a transition to worse weather will take, helping you gauge whether to buck the trend or not.

Yes thats right. If you have gps or watch it is also possible to see fall or raise in air pressure over some time.

Nice. Turns out my phone (Google Pixel 2) happens to have a barometer in it. I think it was included in the phone for determining altitude, but perhaps I can repurpose it to be our weatherman?

Yes maybe, I think it is the same principle the pressures change in different heights and during low or high pressure according to the weather. check it out, maybe there is a app you can use.

I use a Fitbit tracker. What does your 8188 moves mean in miles or km? That’s a lot of steps.

It is a app connected to Steemit. Click the tag in my post for more info. about it.
