Water.

The valley Skamdalen, northern Norway.

A small boat in the stream.

The valley is called Skamdalen, the name is Skapmi in sami, and means shady or dark. This is a quite narrow valley with high mountains shading for the sun. It is a beautiful valley with a lake in the inner part. The river start from this lake and end in the fjord around 10 km further down.

Today it was low clouds and fog covering the mountains, I only got a few glimpse of them between the clouds. It was also a little rain in the air which give fresh colour and soft shadows. I liked the little mysterious mood and we had a great trip watching the river, waterfall and the lake. If you look closely you will be able to see a Norwegian "Hulder" :-). In other countries they are called nymph, siren or mermaid.

This is my kind of walks!! The stream is very powerful! And the water is very pure!
We need some fresh water from there! The rain didn’t come and the rice fields are dying!

Have a nice day!

Sorry to hear about the rice fields. Hope you get rain soon.

These are absolutely stunning! I'm sure you would have appreciated some sun, but the fog makes the scenery so much moodier! I love them! The water looks like glacial runoff. Is it?

Bad weather can often be nice to take photos.👍 it looks like the weather will be better. Need a little rain too. There are many rivers and streams going to the lake from melting snow and ice. There are also some glaciers, on nice days the lake have a "green" colour.
