Hearty Morning at Penang Kuey Teow

Hi, Tasteemians, a special shout out to Penang friends!!! This shop is in Sabah and it is very famous here! One of the healthiest and heartiest servings are prepared in this humble little restaurant.

The shop is clean and the things are quite organized. We are encouraged to take our own utensils and sauces and napkins. Don't be lazy.

The foods are non-halal, pls take note.

Taste of every dish was fresh delicious and flavourful.

My favorite is the Mihun Sup with seafood combo (rice vermicelli soup with fish filler, fish maw, fish balls, fishskin and fish nugget). Feels full already, right?

Every day full house seated by customers, and Wednesdays are day off - it makes people clueless, donno where to go for breakfast.

Below is the Menu and you can add any other side dishes to your main meals.

(Above side dishes you may add into your order, such as dumplings (fried or boiled), dumplings with century egg inside, sausages and eggplant stuffed with minced meat)

This lady is the cook, her children takes orders from customers. They also hired staffs to serve and make drinks. They are very friendly and has great service. She says "Good Morning" and "Thank you" to all customers. Her daughter always makes jokes with us. If we asked for the Bill, she will announce the price "Twenty thousand ringgit, please." (if it is RM20.00 only)

Above - a variety of toppings for the meals, fried garlic, fried onion, spring onions chopped and etc.

Now, let's see what's the signature dish. The favorite of most customers is the Tom Yum Seafood which costs RM10.00 or USD2.50 (not a budget breakfast in Malaysia but very satisfying as it is all seafood).

The taste was a kick in the morning, because it was very spicy!!! I loved it, the teary eyes, sniffling nose and all that burning sensation in the mouth... Then came the hiccups... You will promise yourself to never have it again, but sorry... Next round, you will COMpromise and will order it again...

Drinks
As a typical coffee shop restaurant, they have a drinks station and will make various types of local favourites. One of the special ones are KOPI TARIK (you might have heard of Teh Tarik, frothed milk tea by pouring them back to back using two mugs). This one is coffee plus sweetened milk, frothed by pouring back to back also. Priced at RM2.50 or USD0.63 only

Lunar New Year tidbits for sale
We will be celebrating Lunar New Year on 5th Feb 2019. This restaurant had been selling tidbits and cookies since last few weeks. Here are some photos for you to enjoy:
