Hotel Hermes Palace Banda Aceh resmi menjadi Hotel Bintang 5,setelah di lakukannya launching pada Selasa 15 Augustus 2017. Kenaikan bintang ini ditetapkan pada 23 Mei 2017 oleh Lembaga Sertifikasi Usaha MTM - Megah Tritunggal Mulia. semua fasiltas telah di upgarde di antaranya kamar,lobby, pool bar,fitnes center dan spa. ujur Syafrial Harus selaku GM Hermes Place Banda aceh saat konferensi press.

Sebelumnya, selama kurun waktu dua hari 22-23 Mei 2017, dipimpin langsung Dr Bambang Hermanto sebagai CEO MTM serta dibantu Drs Latief Darmawan dari Surabaya, lembaga ini meperbuat audit kepada sistem serta seluruh fasilitas hotel yang berdiri 11 tahun lalu itu.

Audit meliputi pemeriksaan dokumen kelengkapan hotel, kelayakan fasilitas tamu mulai dari kamar, restoran, lounge, kolam renang serta fasilitas lainnya. seperti di ketahui Hermes Palace Banda Aceh berada di bawah naungan Bencoolen Internasional, Bencoolen Internasional merupakan perusahaan manajemen Hotel yang ada di Indonesia dan beberapa negara lainnya.
