Lets show how creative you are : drawing - crocodile

I welcome you all to my post and blog, I am @hayleydemi from Nigeria and I have come in accordance to the rules of this contest to place my entry. I would like to appreciate the founder of this contest @benton3 for always binging up such a creative contest. In this post I will be talking about one of the largest reptile to live on both land and Water which is called crocodile.

Crocodile are one of the biggest reptile in the world that have tough outer shells. They have no scales, but their skin is made out of horny scales. Its flesh is mostly yellow, but it can sometimes be brown or green depending on the type of crocodile. These reptilian species have one of the most powerful jaw that they use to catch prey. They also carry sharp teeth that are used to bite through the tough hides and skins of prey. These powerful reptile can grow up to 23 feet in length and weigh over 1000 pounds.

Crocodile are reptiles which mostly live in water and can also be found on land. They are cold blooded reptiles with scaly skin around their body and are heavily poached for their skin and meat. A crocodile appears to be a fearless predator and its appearance is no lie, they are violent carnivores and their physical traits help them to be a successful hunter in both water and land. A Crocodile body is designed to swim quickly as they are able to tuck in there feet into the water and move through the Water with little resistance. Their feet are also webbed and although are not used to gain speed but are used to make fast changes in direction or sudden movement.


Crocodile are recently being poached by people because their skin can be used to make different product such as leather items which are also used to produce shoes, bags, belts and wallet. Their meat is also considered as a food and delicacy to many Asian people. Crocodiles have a huge role to play in nature and should not be murder for their skin always. If people are to calculate the ecological importance of crocodile in nature they are more alive than dead.

In accordance to the contest, I am being asked to make a drawing of this powerful reptilian creature and I am about to do so stay tuned as I continue the drawing. As we all known drawing is not a new thing to me cause I have made some drawings of my own in this wonderful platform and this will be no different.


Before I started my drawing I always ensure to get all the right materials I need for such drawing and the materials I used were


• pencil
• eraser
• sharpener
• paper

Now I will be telling you the steps I took in achieving this artwork.

STEP 1
For me I always like to start drawing from the head because sometimes the head enables you get the real view of your drawing but I don't know about other artist.

STEP 2
After getting the shape and direction of the head, I then began to draw the front legs which consists of the claw also.

STEP 3
After drawing the front legs I went over to the back legs to complete the legs of the crocodile.

STEP 4
After making the crocodile have both legs it now time to draw the body and skin just like I did.

STEP 5
When drawing the skin I also took that opportunity to also draw the tail.

STEP 6
After completing the drawing I then wrote my username and titled it and this is my final result as shown below.

In conclusion, crocodile are very unique creatures that are dangerous but are made to live in the wild and not messed with by any humans. They are beautiful creatures and are danger to humans any more than humans are to them. Inviting @radleking @mesola @bossj23 @mhizta to join me in this contest.
