It is indeed my delight to participate in another contest in this phenomenal community. A lot of persons make new year resolutions. For most, it's a fresh start, a chance at redemption. For some, it's a determination to do something they were never able to do in previous years. Whichever reason it is, new year's resolutions are really a common thing when the year approaches its end and a fresh year looms.

My new year's resolution

I have several new year's resolution. I will mention them in this post.

I want to save more and spend wisely next year. This year was a year where I spent so much. I also made a lot of unwise spending decisions. 2022 has been a really tough year for me financially. There were times when things were really difficult for me, times when I wasn't able to buy important things I needed and times when I was not able to pay for things, especially things relating to school.

I want to do what it takes to avoid a repeat of these things next year. I sincerely aim to save something from every income I earn. I also want to develop a good spending habit. I intend to spend on only things that are necessary. Also, I want to have more sources of income next year. I intend to get jobs that can bring me more money. I think having only one source of income is no longer enough.

Another resolution of mine is to gain more skills next year. I want to gain more digital and technological skills. Technology is not just the future, it's the present. I want to take a data science course and a web development course online next year. I intended to take those courses this year but I wasn't able to because of lack of time. School has been taking my time a lot. As a result, I kept procrastinating and now, it's the end of the year. So next year, I'm going to be deliberate about developing these skills and becoming really good.

The next resolution of mine for the new year is to learn to keep in touch with family more, especially my extended family. Over the years, I haven't related and communicated much with most of my extended family members. We have all been busy with our separate live and gradually, we've grown apart over the years. From next year, I will make conscious efforts to reach out to and blend more with my distant cousins, uncles, and many others.

My resolution on Steemit

I want to build my account and presence on steemit. I want to achieve a steem power of at least 1000sp next year. This is a really big goal of mine. Also, I want to get to the point where I would be really known on steemit and even qualified to become a curator or moderator in a community.
By next year, I want to get to the level where I would be easily recognized by SC01 and SC02. I intend to get to a reputation of 70 next year.

I want to promote steemit in my vicinity and introduce more people to steemit. I will teach them and guide them on how to be successful on the platform.

Plans I have put in place to achieve my goals

Fist of all, I am going to practice proper time management. It will help me balance school demands and learning the skills I want to have. It will also help me over procrastination.

Next, I am going to make it a point of duty to call or text a distant relative of mine every weekend. This would help me build better relationships with them overtime. After all, family is everything.

For my steemit resolution, I am going to be more active. I intend to be consistent and make a minimum of 6 articles per week. I am also going to do a lot of commenting than I already am. I know that consistency is key, if I want to be successful on steemit.

Conclusion

Making new year's resolution is a means to keep us focused on accomplishing certain goals in the new year. We may derail at some point or get distracted, but true strength lies on realizing that you've derailed, and getting back on track immediately.
