Hola a toda la comunidad, cuando un niño ha tenido pérdida temprana de sus dientes anteriores bien sea por traumatismo o caries rampante, y no es tiempo para el recambio dental es decir, no es el tiempo eruptivo, el tejido de cicatrización se vuelve más fibroso, lo que al momento de la erupción del permanente éste tejido le impide la salida.

En estos casos el paciente presenta inflamación de la zona, dificultad para comer, dolor, el diente por si sólo no saldrá por que el tejido que lo recubre es más fibroso por causa de la extración temprana del temporario.

El procedimiento a seguir es realizar una operculectomía, que consiste en anestesiar la zona y con un bisturí realizar un corte de esa fibrosidad como una especie de ojal y se deja abierto, para permitir que el diente permanente erupcione de forma natural.

Es un procedimiento sumanente sencillo dependerá de la colaboración del paciente que son niños entre 6 a 7 años de edad, la duración aproximada del procedimiento es de 20 min.

Los cuidados postoperatorios son los mismo de una cirugía menor:

• Tratamiento antibíotico y analgésico,
• Dieta líquida por 24 hora
• Dieta blanda por las siguientes 36 horas
• Tomar alimentos y bebidas frías
• No escupir ni hacer buches
• No molestarse la zona con la lengua
• No tomar bebidas con pitillo
• No tomar lacteos.

Post-operative care is the same as for minor surgery:

• Anti-biotic and analgesic treatment,
• Liquid diet for 24 hours
• Soft diet for the next 36 hours
• Eating and drinking cold foods and beverages
• No spitting or swallowing
• Do not bother the area with your tongue
• Do not drink drinks with a cigarette
• No dairy.

Al realizarlo el diente comienza su descenso, se presenta en los incisivos centrales superiores y en los terceros morales.
