in #travel6 years ago

Welcome back to the best celebrations in the world!
For the people that missed the first editions, travelers always like to be part of something new and unique. Traveling is all about exploring and meeting people as well as creating lasting memories.
Most people that travel don’t plan everything and go with the flow, they depend on other travelers on where to go or you can just make sure you read this post.

Within this topic of my blog I will take to the best celebrations in the world by month, so don’t confuse this post with my other series “the best travel destinations” this one will be more about celebrations hosted all around the world, so be sure not to miss out and enjoy!

Sint Maarten Carnival
Before I begin to explain about the Carnival off Sint Maarten I must say I really love that place, as some of you know I visited Sint Maarten a Dutch colonial island many times when I was working on a Cruiseship.
I really liked every visit there, even though the island is small there are many things you might like. I was crushed when the hurricane hit the island because I know the island depends on tourism so much. I even donated money because of your help when it happened.

luckily by now the island is in full rebuild mode and even the Cruise ships are coming back again. So let all enjoy the island again and visit while the celebrate their Carnival, the Carnival is celebrated the whole month of April and even the first week of May, so you still have some time to get there and enjoy!
There are many different events hosted so there is something fun for everybody.

Goth Weekend
For all my Steemit friends that are Goths, punks, Steampunks, bikers or Metallers this one is for you! Head over to the Whitby Goth Weekend to enjoy a festival that really suits your preference. Inspired by the Dracula the town of Whitby in North Yorkshire in England will host the festival twice a year! what do you think? Ready for something different.

Okoshi Diako
Japan has so much to offer, great habits and culture, I would love visit again and explore more! Make sure to be in Hida-Furukawa for something really intense. The people of the city prepared a giant Drum to be carried around the streets, 12 teams from different neighborhoods each carry a smaller drum attached to a pole. The goal is to be as close to the bigger Drum as you can be, can you imagine this to be really intense! Make sure to keep your distance as spectator.

Cow celebration throwing Cow Shit!
Want to be part of a very weird celebration! What about throwing dried cowpats as far as you can!
The rules are simple all “chips” must be locally produced and must have at least a 15cm diameter. The record setting throw until to today is 56meter, so if you think you can throw further? Be my guest and head over to Oklahoma, Beaver to be precise.

Thank for stopping by, hope you can celebrate as much as you can, where would you like to go?
