Lakers finally decides to hire the former Toronto Raptors’ Assistant coach, Handy
Hello fellow sport lovers across the globe, it’s a new day, with a new vibe and guess what? I’ve got something new for you.
If u can remember in my last two posts, I mentioned that the Lakers are quite determined to secure a championship and they’re adopting every possible methods and making use of all available opportunities to make sure it happens. They are really pooling resources and efforts to creating a super team.
They were still on lookout to hiring an Assistant coach for the team before now. They tried going for Warrior’s Defensive Guru, Ron Adams to be their new Assistant Coach but luck was against them as he turned down their offer for a revised role in the bay area.
However, they recently came to a wise decision as they have agreed to hire the Toronto Raptors’ former Assistant coach, Handy who was the former Hawaii Star Guard and have an experience of an Assistance Coach for five seasons, earning two titles to his name.
Handy was also an Assistant Coach to the Caveliers for 5years before coaching the Raptors for a year. He has also worked with great players such as Kyrie Irving, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James to mention few.
He will be under Frank Vogel who’s the new Lakers Head Coach as a “front of the bench” assistant coach and this will be his first. The clippers also went for the former Toronto Raptors’ Assistant Coach but unfortunately for them he accepted Lakers’ offer.
With this kind of experienced coach as an assistant to Vogel, I think the Lakers are a step closer to creating a super team and are ready to make their dream come true.
