What Problem Does Steemit Solve and How the Community Can Grow?
Steemit is Poised for Explosive Growth, What Point do You Focus on When Selling it?
I hear people talking about how they are telling all of their friends and family about Steemit. I would love to know what everyone is saying. What are you guys telling people when introducing them to Steemit?
Whether you like it or not if you are telling people about Steemit you are literally in a state of selling. Why would people stop their habit of using Reddit, Facebook, Blogger, Medium, Tumblr, Google Plus or any other social network where you can blog to come here?
I think it would be awesome if the community and corporate came to an agreement on what pain points in social media that we address. We have many great features regarding crypto currency that are spectacular but come on guys and gals crypto currencies are still largely unknown. We know that Steemit is becoming "The Gateway Crypto". I think we need to find a niche in the worlds of blogging and social media.
Telling the Story of Steemit.
I think our best resource is the users, everyone who writes on Steemit. Imagine if everyone on this platform told the world about their positive experiences here. If we did that on a regular basis we would grow exponentially. People love to read and hear stories of success. The world is hungry for something new in social media. For many years there has been an undercurrent of discontent on social media as companies use our data to profit.
This feeling is one that we can tap into. Steemit is a green pasture where our content has value. Let's start telling our stories on the other social media platforms. We don't have to market in an aggressive fashion. People will be attracted to the positive energy that we as a community exude across the internet.
In deed, people are attracted by the light and have always been! When the positive health of our platform will be radiating outside our border, the flow will increase exponentially.
From what I have read on Steemit, so far, there's a lot of very positive and creative people who are bringing about a load of goodness for our world. Focussing and helping each other with support and upvotes can only help us all. Negative campaigns have hurt the platform and still does here and there, sadly for us all too. It has been the #1 active limiting factor for the moment. Are we to allow such things to occur and destroy our spirit or are we going to have the strength to support each other? If we do, I believe that sky is not the limit, we can go MUCH farther!
Thanks again for another great positive light in our virtual environment @hilarski. Namaste :)
I guess Mitchell (@zurvanic)is working on this too. News are announced for the next week, he said.
Yes, him and I had a Skype call a few weeks ago. He didn't give me any details but I feel positive about the direction.
@hilarski, I will share your post in my facebook. This will save my time to explanation about steemit. Thank you. Nice ! :)
Awesome 7 seconds of 'beaming' on youtube and a powerful message.
Hat tip and gratitude .
We are everbetter.
100% agree with you and his message. I started writing 2 months ago, My story has value, Steemit!
Thanks and I appreciate your response.
Right on Write on!
Another great post, Randy! Thank you! Resteemed.
These would be my top 3 selling propositions for steemit (not steem):
1 and 2 are awesome but 3 is definitely something no other platform can claim.
Exactly! :-)
For starters, I think that it would rule to see some sort of primitive private messaging system be implemented. That would allow people to communicate privately on here and form more meaningful friendships. If that comes to fruition, then I think Steemit is poised to grow even more rapidly.
Agreed and resteeemed - we need to sell a story - however there is nit the ONE STORY - people are different so their interests, all approach has to be focused on that single individual.
Thanks for proving this great piece @hilarski
We need to keep trying. I've been using IFTTT to broadcast my Steemit posts on my other social media sites. And when @winstonwolfe did that crowdsourced video I was shocked that it didn't go viral. I guess we need to stop pushing and start asking: What would it take for you to try something new? Then gently guide them our way.
Speaking of something new - have you been invited to check out VIVA yet?
Hi @hilarski I have been telling people about steemit, I have posted some of my posts on specialized Facebook groups, in particular "BMW Motorrad Classic Rides and Events Africa", on rides we as a group had, I even showed them the $$$ I made, but still I suffer to get them participating. I even stole photos from my brother's Facebook page and showed him how I made $25.00 with his photos, only now after about 5 months he is starting to show interest. It seems that people are not easily converted, but we must keep on working, and slowly but surely the tide will turn
