Volcanic eruption in Guatemala: The number of deaths is more than half

The death toll in the fierce volcanic eruption of Fuego volcano in Guatemala has increased to 62 Hundreds of people were injured. Many more are missing.

According to the BBC, army personnel and fire-fighting workers are working on the search for the missing. More than three thousand people have been evacuated from that area.

The casualties occurred when the flag volcano exploded on Sunday about 40 kilometers southwest of Guatemala City.
The National Disaster Management Agency (Conrad) said about 17 million people were affected due to the devastating eruptions. Volcanic eruptions spread to the sky up to 33 thousand feet high. Several villages, including the lava currents El Rodeo and San Miguel Los Lotas, have almost completely destroyed it.

However, volcanic experts confirmed that the epidemic is now closed.
The country's President Jimmy Morales announced a three-day state mourning in the wake of the volcano. México, El Salvador, and Israel have assured to remain beside the mourning incident.

This is the largest volcano since 1974, according to local experts.
