I've Reached Another Steemit Milestone! - Is It Possible To Boost Your Conversion Rates On Steemit? - The Power Of Words! [A Freelancers Thoughts]

in #steemit9 years ago

Dear Steemians,

My name is André Strand aka. hitmeasap. I'm not a bitcoin millionaire, a super-steemian nor a whale. I'm nothing more than a simple Freelancer who've managed to work full time online for the past 5 years.

I'm not a rocket-scientist.. And the best part is. - That I don't have to be one!

  • Conversion optimization is when you turn leads into customers. When you successfully turn a prospect into a buyer. - Today, I'll talk about how you can optimize your steemit posts and yield better results.

I've reached another Steemit milestone!

I've managed to get more than 250 followers. In one of my previous steemit posts I talked about my Steemit milestones for 2016. Three weeks ago I wrote the Milestone post and these are two things I stated within that post.

  • I've gained more than 135 followers.
  • I've managed to reach a reputation of 61.

I also stated a bunch of other things but these two things are the most important ones.

This is my account details today:

That basically means that I rather quickly have managed to get more than 120 new followers and I've also increased my reputation not only once but with two steps!

  • Did I do something special or did I use some "secret methods" that only Freelancer could be aware of?

The answer is no. - I haven't done anything special at all, besides being myself. I wouldn't say that I am special at all but I am unique, because I am who I am. - That's the only thing that could be called a "secret method" and that's not a secret. Right? - Everyone knows that you'll increase your chances to gain better results by being you. Be yourself. - I've said it numerous times.

With that being said..

Even though I'm just being myself, is it possible that I look at things from another perspective? - Do I analyze things more than others? - And is that due to the fact that I'm a freelancer?

  • Honestly speaking, I don't know. Even if it would be because I'm a freelancer, due to the fact that I am Swedish or due to the fact that I'm a pretty decent Overwatch player or because I'm turning 31 in a week.. - Does any of that matter?

The short answer is no. None of that matters. - The only thing that truly matters is dedication.

I am a dedicated Steemian. I publish posts more or less daily and I publish different content. - I've also managed to become a (in my opinion) better writer. Not when it comes to spelling or things like that, but as an individual. I share things that I would never have shared if it weren't for steemit. - And I'm truly satisfied with the results!

Anyhow, let's continue.

Is it possible to boost your conversion rates on Steemit? - Is it possible to yield better results with the use of a decent CTA (Call to action)? - Can you tweak your posts, in any way at all, so you end up with better results? - Can you do anything to get more rewards?

I have never thought about these things earlier so I've never used any of these "methods" in my previous blog posts. At least not consciously. Perhaps I've subconsciously used some of the things prior.. That's impossible to answer.

So, there's a bunch of things you can do. If they work or not is up to you to figure out. - Try them or not. You are the ultimate judge.

Here goes!

If you want to sell a product and the content on your website convince a user to buy it, then you'll have successfully made a visitor do what you wanted them to do. On Steemit, you're ultimately looking for upvotes, no matter what anyone states. - You want a piece of the pie.

  • I don't publish posts for the sole reason of upvotes and money but it sure ain't bad to get it. - Rewards are awesome and the greater rewards (in terms of amount of votes & $$$), the greater feeling you'll get. To feel appreciated is nice and what could increase that feeling you have more than votes, comments and money? - Steemit gives us all the opportunity to get all of it at the same time!

Here's a list of things that will help you to increase your conversion rates: (Similar lists can be found wherever you look online.)

  • Use bigger text/fonts, bold and headlines, they make the content more appealing
  • Add pictures of people who have positive feedback about your website
  • Use power words in your content that compels visitors to invest in your product
  • A less generic CTA can get more leads
  • Make images of your products bigger
  • Use animation and gifs
  • Improve your page design
  • Interact with visitors on a personal level
  • Add a trust badge to your products
  • Add product videos with demonstrations

Note that I've just stated a few bullet points in this list. You can find similar ones with up to 50 bullet points.

Let's go over some of these bullet points in a bit more detail, shall we?

Most of the posts on Steemit that has generated huge rewards are using these bullet points. No matter if the authors did it consciously or not. - Don't believe me? - Let me explain.

  • Use bigger text/fonts, bold and headlines, they make the content more appealing

Take a look at any post you want. This specific post is a good example too. Bigger text. - I've used headlines and subtitles. Most people are doing this.

  • Add pictures of people who have positive feedback about your website
  • Make images of your products bigger
  • Use animation and gifs
  • Add a trust badge to your products

I'll discuss these at the same time. - Images are super-important! - A long post without images are often boring to read, and people leave before they've finished reading the whole post, which obviously decrease your chances of gaining upvotes.

If you are doing an interview with Dan or Ned for instance. Or with dollarvigilante or any other established steemian, make sure to use pictures of them! More preferably, pictures of you and them together! - If you interview them on Skype you should obviously share that interview. That way you'll increase credibility and a "trust badge" is automatically in place.

  • Use power words in your content that compels visitors to invest in your product

Power words are amazing and vital but some people don't know what a power word truly is.

Let me share some examples

-If you're looking to bring a positive vibe and to give your readers a pep talk:

Amazing - Blissful - Breathtaking - Jaw-dropping - Mind-blowing - Stunning - Surprising - Uplifting

  • If you're looking to "start a riot" and make people angry, or to show your anger:

Abuse - Arrogant - Bullshit - Bully - Coward - Disgusting - Lies - Obnoxious - Preposterous

  • If you want to grab the attention of money savers or money makers:

Bargain - Discount - Extra - Free - Gift - Massive - Quadruple - Six-figure - Whopping

I suppose you get the idea by now?

We've come to an end..

If you've read everything from the top to the bottom you'll shortly notice two things. The upvote button and the link to my blog, so you can follow me for future posts. If you're up for it.

Some people believe it's unnecessary or perhaps even childish or wrong to ask for followers. Some people truly believe that if anyone would like to follow you, then they'll do that without you asking them.. And perhaps they are right. - But by leaving it into the hands of your readers, with a small reminder of a follow button you'll increase your chances to gain more followers. It's proven to work. Not only for me but for others too. - That's the reason for the upvote button to be placed at the bottom of the posts to begin with. To encourage people to read the whole posts before they upvote something. - Have a splendid day!

Good read, it's apparent hard work pays off. Followed :) Gratz! I totally envy the amount of followers you have, but I'll get there eventually.

Thank you, I appreciate it :) - Keep up the good work and you'll reap the rewards! :)

That was a very informative and interesting post. Thanks.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it.

Good read @hitmeasap. I have learned so much over the past two (2) months and will continue to learn about this community. I feel this site is build on a good foundation which means longevity to me. Anyway, thanks for your post and tips.....

Thank you and I'm glad you liked it. I wish you the best of luck in the future! :)

Great post, I came here with a freelance background and a catalog of virtually unshared fiction and so far, so good. I think that we who are professional denizens of the WWW do have an advantage. When I launch on a new platform, I know what metrics have mattered in the past and I go after them. Building an audience is a skill that can translate to almost any venue. Keep it up, nice post!

Thank you and yeah, perhaps you're right. We might have an advantage. Nonetheless, anyone can be successful on steemit :)

Hi, very glad to see you are happy with your progress here on Steemit. As a freelancer are you earning a realistic return for your hours spent here?

Well.. That would obviously depend on what "realistic return" would mean. Some people would probably be thrilled and satisfied with a few dollars every week, meanwhile others probably need a couple of hundreds of dollars to feel satisfied. In my case, I would say that I'm more than satisfied with what I've earned so far. Especially since I don't publish posts on Steemit to make money. I don't expect money on any of my posts so every single cent is a huge bonus for me. With that being said, if I would see my hours on Steemit as working hours. Then I wouldn't have earned near what I would have charged for those hours as I spend about 10 hours per day here. :)

Congratulations on your milestone. Thanks for sharing your story. I'm at 134 followers. Trying to catch up. :-)

Thank you very much, I appreciate it! :) - Best of luck to you! :)
