[In-depth post by me.] I feel a bit discouraged but it's okay.. [Took me 1+ hour to write this.]

Believe me when I say.. I'm trying..

I am trying to create something new, fresh, fun, cool and awesome at the same time. - And I do it for myself, for you and for everybody who's interested in gaming. - Like you can read in this The Reasons Steemit, You & Live-Streaming Has Changed My Life. previous post of mine, I've stated the reasons I do this today.

With a Steemit Account like this:

With Highlights likes these:

And this:

With a Twitch channel like this:

And with a Steam Group like this:

I'm doing everything I can.. And I'm trying to go that extra mile at all times.

I know.. I'm still a nobody.

I am well aware of the fact that I'm still a "nobody" to most people. Both on Steemit, on YouTube (where I have 11 subscribers at the time I'm writing this), and frankly speaking, literally everywhere online.. At least when it comes to Gaming. - It's way different in the Freelancing niche though, where I'm actually a pretty known guy on multiple platforms.

With highly reputated accounts on Fiverr & SEOClerks for instance, where I'm at level 2 and Level X5. Level 2 on Fiverr isn't that hard to reach though but the X5 on SEOClerks is insane. - The staff manually selects these people and there's only 9 Level X5 users in total. I am one of the 9 Level X5 users among more than 520,000 people in total.

With that being said..

I've been doing tons of things to bring new users to Steemit. (I've been well rewarded for multiple things too.) - I had a huge giveaway here in the nearest city where I live. I gave away free T-shirts & business cards for instance. - I also talked with the nearest grocery shop about Steemit and somehow got them to publicly show their customers a Steemit logo in front of the cash register. (Which is a huge deal to me!)

On top of that.. I've also changed my entire approach on Steemit.

Instead of going after this "easy cash" I mentioned in a previous post of mine, by posting "Freelancing related" content (which I did prior to the 180 turn-around), I'm targeting gamers by producing gaming related content. Highlights & gameplay. I stream anything between 8 and 12 hours per day in an attempt to build a huge following. To build myself a sturdy foundation...

  • Just like I did when I first arrived at steemit. With the freelancing related content!

However..

I must say that I'm starting to feel a bit discouraged..
Well, perhaps not discouraged, but at least.. It feels pretty "low-key" so far, so to speak.

  • Let me explain why.

Day after day, we can all see trending posts like these:

And don't take this the wrong way. I love to see this! - I'm proud of these fellow steemian-gamers who produce quality posts & rake in good rewards day after day. - And no, I'm not jealous of them, or their results..

Even though I have results like this myself:

I obviously wish I'd have better luck & better results too, but I'm not jealous.. However, here's one thing I'm pretty bummed out about.

I was fortunate enough to get an upvote from Fuzzy.

A second later, abit came and crushed that slight hope I got..

  • Fuzzy gave me a spark of hope, to finally reach a new potential reward record.. But abit destroyed it immediately.

I am not aware of the exact reason for this to happen, but my guess is that fuzzy upvoted me with 100% of his power which he shouldn't have done.. That's why abit downvoted me, to reduce the rewards I would've got from fuzzy.. - And sure, it's okay. Everyone is free to vote on whatever things they want to vote on.. And even if it wasn't personal against me, it's personal to me no matter what, as it affects my potential rewards..

I see these trending posts with more than $50 each day, at all times.. And when I finally "scored a big one".. - I got downvoted.

I get an average of 10-15 upvotes on my posts.. And this post will most likely end up with the same results.

  • And that's okay.

What feels bad, is the downvote when I see similar content at the same time earning $50+.. With 200+ votes and zero downvotes.

Most of you already know, that if you know a guy, who knows a guy.. You'll score big on Steemit (and usually in life too).

  • However, I don't know a guy.

I'm a random Swede. A gamer who made a 180 turn-around on Steemit. A random swede who's posting gaming related content on Steemit nowadays, instead of Freelancing content. Freelancing is my life. I've been a full time freelancer for several years now. I've been working as a freelancer from the comfort of my own home for the past 6 years. Full time. - For about 8 years in total. - And I do know a guy, in that niche...

  • But I don't know a guy in the gaming niche or here on steemit. I don't have whales or a voting-trail that upvotes each and every post or comment I make. - I am an army of one.

I do everything myself. I work more than 40 hours per week. I stream more than 40 hours per week. - And besides the streaming part. - I create highlights, short videos, clips & interact with my "community". I encourage people to visit Steemit and to join my Steam group. - I build everything myself. I do everything myself...

I am exhausted.. But I won't give up. - I love what I do, and gaming is one of my biggest passions in life.. - So I'll keep fighting..

During the time I fight..

  • I hope you'll have a blessed weekend.

PS. Yeah, it did take me more than 1 hour to write this.. Remember, I'm from Sweden. That means, not native in English. ;) (Sorry for any misspelled words!)

The reason this happened is because the whales are currently down-voting any post that got a upvote with a very high percentage from any other whale - to counteract their votes and essentially make sure they don't upvote every single thing to get giant rewards from curation

Thank you for the explanation, I appreciate it. So I was pretty close with my assumption.. I guess it just feels bad to get downvoted, no matter the reason. Oh well, thank you for the upvote & the comment!

The way I see it any reward is better than none, especially if you believe the Steem price is going to rocket, which I believe it will. I know how you feel though....

Yeah, I've always been happy & satisfied with any type of rewards actually. I've often mentioned it too, that even 1 cent is more than you'll ever earn on twitter or facebook for instance. So it's actually all good so far. But even so, it still feels pretty bad with a downvote like that. Thank you for your comment!

I agree, it ia awful.😣

Yeah, well. It helps to know the real reason though. The logic behind downvotes. Thank you once again :)
