Stop wasting food
This is the motto of the government in France.
France's grocery stores are no longer allowed to destroy food. With this law, France is taking action against food waste. Unsold food should be recycled or donated.
It is mandatory that supermarkets with a shop area of 400 sqm have to conclude an agreement with charitable organisations.
Retailers criticised that the measures failed to meet their target, because wholesale was responsible for only five percent of the food waste.
