Be Strong and Courageous in Christ
Remember that I have commanded you to be determined and confident! Don't be afraid or discouraged, for I, the Lord your God,am with you wherever you go. - Joshua 1:9
Just like Joshua in the old testament, can we as Christians of the 21st century be bold and courageous? Can we discard fear from our lives and take up the mantle of God? I believe Yes we can. He said in his word I am the Lord your God, am with you wherever you go, so do not be afraid of any circumstances you might have encountered or any situation you are facing right now.
Being strong doesn't have to be physical, but rather the attitude we show towards handling issues, not giving up when the going gets rough, shows how strong we are. Our problems might try to intimidate us but been courageous and having a confident character helps remedy the situation.
Also in Isaiah 41:10, where God promised Israel,
do not be afraid, I am with you. I am your God- let nothing terrify you! I will make you strong and help you; I will protect you and save you.
These words keep resounding in my mind, God has told us not to be afraid or terrified of anything , he is ever ready to guide and protect us. These words should give us all the boldness and courage we need when we face tribulations or faced with a daunting task. There's nothing impossible for the lord to do and his words through the prophet is yes and amen. Because in 2 Corinthians 1:20 it is stated, for it is he who is the "Yes" to all God's promises. This is why Jesus Christ our "Amen" is said to the glory of God. Christ is our leader and God has made a promise to us (all mankind)through him Galatians 3 : 16,29 says Now, God made his promises to Abraham and to his descendant. The scripture does not use the plural "descendants" , meaning many people but the singular "descendant", meaning one person only, namely, Christ. Verse 29 also say,If you belong to Christ, then you are the descendants of Abraham and will receive what God has promised.
God commands fearlessness in our lives because he has promised us with four commands to not Be determined, Be confident, Do not be afraid and Do not be discouraged. This four commands are related and not an option, the commands gives us a standing point and enjoin us to be prepared and ready, adhering to the command won't be hard because he has also promised to be with us where we go.
Our faith and trust in God is an essential ingredient to help us to be bold and courageous. Fearlessness is faith, with faith we can move mountains, since God has promised us strength we can be rest assured that our adversity are just there to make us stronger.
The bottom line is that God has promised to make us strong, the strength he gives us should trigger the boldness and courage and help us conquer our fears in perilous times.
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life.
Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking.
Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice.
And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.
You are able to say to yourself, 'I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.

It is very necessary to be strong and courageous to win the life. Nice advice given for the steemians.
@hornblende, I think your points are very sacrosanct. Fear is what makes us fail most times. Situations that we would naturally have been able to salvage, we tend to mess up because of fear. Courage is very very important for any believer, coupled with faith in God.
The bottom line is that God has promised to make us strong, the strength he gives us should trigger the boldness and courage and help us conquer our fears in perilous times.
We were never given the spirit of fear but of power the bible says:
2Ti 1:7 For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Power, boldness is already in our spiritual DNA as the bible says in
Pro 28:1 The wicked flee, though no one pursues, but the righteous are bold like a lion
It is always the wicked who flees or is afraid but not those who have a right standing with God. Like God said to Joshua we should be courageous because that's what we are made of . The moment we fail to recognise that is the moment the devil gains advantage over us
Fear is not an option for the Christian. God says, “Don’t have it. If you have it, repent and fly to me and to this promise, and let’s get rid of it together.” We’re commanded not to fear, not to be dismayed; be strong and courageous.
Strength goes with courage! even the Bible urges us to exhibit strength in the Lord and in our daily living. Thanks for sharing @hornblende
Thanks for stopping by.. Let our heart not be wary so we can see God's promises of strength in our lives.

To be bold and fearless simply means you trust God wholeheartedly!!
“And the LORD commissioned Joshua the son of Nun and said, 'Be strong and courageous, for you shall bring the people of Israel into the land that I swore to give them. “I will be with you.” (Deut. 31:23)
