The history of this island is very complicated, because it has passed through several owners, the last ones were the friars and unfortunately the island fell into ruin for several years, but fortunately a few years ago it was bought by pharmaceutical industrialists who are managed to recover it with a restoration and therefore from this year it is accessible to all people.
Unfortunately in some cases in Italy private individuals have to intervene and trying to enhance some places precisely because the Italian State invests little in preserving its cultural heritage, even if Italy is rich in them.
The peculiarity of this island is that it is located right inside the lake of Bolsena, one of the largest lakes in Europe that was formed inside a volcanic crater.
However, I will give you more details in the video and I will leave you under the article some useful links to plan a possible visit I warn you right now that unfortunately, being the private owner of the property, the ticket to access is quite expensive, we are talking about € 38 but also includes the boat from the town to reach the island.
