Steemit Engagement Challenge / S13W1 - "Health and our Environment"

Hello dear friends of this community, I am happy to participate in this contest, especially because I find the topic raised here very interesting. Moreover, in this contest, I have the opportunity to share my opinion with all of you, and it's great to engage in discussions on such an important subject as health. Tell us in your words what you understand about global health. I don't know the situation of global health very well because, in my opinion, to truly understand it, one must travel frequently. Traveling is the only real way to comprehend the situation in each country. Unfortunately, when I read on the internet, there are countries that don't even guarantee basic healthcare, which is very sad. On the other hand, in countries like the United States, you must have health insurance; otherwise, you have little chance of receiving medical treatment. I can describe the situation in Italy, and unfortunately, it's not the best. Lately, the government has been investing very little in healthcare, which is becoming a significant problem. Besides providing minimal guaranteed care to the majority of people, most individuals resort to private healthcare facilities for better and faster treatment. This, in my opinion, is unfair because healthcare should be guaranteed to everyone, regardless of a person's social status. Which point is most important to you? Explain your reasons. Definitely, health and the environment should go hand in hand. For example, in the part of Italy where I live, there is a lot of pollution caused by smog. If people would not use private transport recklessly, there would be less pollution, fewer diseases, and thus less need for medical treatment. Unfortunately, it's quite the opposite. Many bronchial diseases are spreading due to human-generated pollution, climate change making seasons warmer, less air circulation in the area of the Po Valley, creating a funnel effect that traps the smog. This is not a positive development. So, in my opinion, apart from polluting less, which remains fundamental, there should also be prevention measures by the healthcare system to prevent smog-related cancers. Which point is less important to you? Explain your reasons. In both healthcare and the environment, I don't believe there are less important points. In fact, I would like to add the issue of food because, for several years in Italy, I have noticed excessive consumption of junk food and unhealthy diets. Over time, this leads to various cardiovascular diseases and obesity. Approximately four out of ten Italians under the age of 10 are obese, and this number is continually rising. In the long run, it will impact the national healthcare system as they won't be able to treat everyone and will lead to significant economic issues. If you can add another point, what would it be, and why? Another problem I'm noticing in Italy, concerning health, is the misuse of antibiotics by people to treat themselves. This is reinforcing generic flu viruses, making them increasingly challenging to treat, even leading to the deaths of several individuals. I would also like to take a moment to mention some positive actions in the region where I live because we need to remember that healthcare in Italy is managed at the regional level. Unfortunately, this creates disparities between rich and poor regions. In my region, which is somewhat average, annual campaigns are conducted to screen for various cancer diseases in both men and women, and this is definitely a step in the right direction for preventing these terrible diseases. I hope my account has been interesting and has given you some insight into my perspective on this issue and the situation in Italy. I genuinely hope that in every country worldwide, healthcare is provided for free and that there's a smart approach to tackle pollution. We must always remember that we are passing on our planet to the next generation. Thank you all for reading, and see you in the next post!

Me encanto leerte ✨
Saludos y Bendiciones.

Congratulations on your post. I hope you are lucky. What happens in the country is also experienced by other countries in the world, and there may be slight variations. Environmental damage has occurred everywhere which has an impact on health. For this reason, collective awareness is needed to continue to protect our environment.
