Along with Nawaz's daughter, the court also granted one-year jail to the son-in-law Safdar Awan. After a few delays, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) gave the verdict.

The verdict has clearly stated that "the property of Nawaz Sharif family in London was acquired through corruption."

Judge Mohammad Bashir announced that Sharif should be given 10 years' imprisonment as he was the owner of more assets than his income and not to cooperate with the NAB investigation at the same time.

Nawaz's daughter Mariam was also sentenced to seven years in prison for the crime, and for 1 year jail sentence for non-cooperation. And Safdar Awan has been sentenced to one year for not helping NAB. Advocate Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi said this.

In the Panama Paper scandal in 2015, Nawaz Sharif has been accused of illegally owning property in the UK.
