🧿 How much do you agree with what the evil eye looks like?

As a Muslim, according to our culture, the evil eye is considered real, and we believe it can bring harm to many people, as I have experienced myself. It's believed that the envy of others can cause sadness and distress to those leading a fulfilling life.

There are various reasons why someone might cast the evil eye, often stemming from jealousy towards another's success or happiness. To protect ourselves from its effects, we turn to the verses in our Holy Qur'an. From my own experience according to today's social media i believe it's wise not to flaunt our lives on social media, as it can evoke jealousy in others and potentially attract the evil eye.

🧿 What measures do parents take to protect their children from the evil eye?

In our Muslim culture, parents do lots of things to protect their kids from the evil eye. For example, my mom puts a black thread around our necks when we go out or to events. It's black because that's believed to keep bad stuff away. If someone says something nice about us, my mom worries it might attract the evil eye.

So, when we come home, she throws red chilies and burns them to get rid of any bad vibes. We also read verses from the Quran regularly for protection. These are things we've always done to keep safe from the evil eye, and they're a big part of our culture.

🧿 Are parents really worried that their children may be affected by the evil eye?

Yes, our desi parents get really worried when they see their children feeling lazy or tired, or when they get easily tired from doing something. The first thing they say is, "I hope you haven't been affected by the evil eye."

And when kids struggle with their studies or lose interest in learning, parents get even more anxious, thinking, "Maybe our kids have been affected by the evil eye." They try desi remedies to protect us. Similarly, when I or any of my siblings mention to our parents that we're not feeling motivated to study these days, their first concern is, "I hope the evil eye hasn't affected you.

🧿 If someone is affected by the evil eye, what kind of consequences are seen? Or how does one realize that the evil eye has fallen?

Yes, as I mentioned earlier, desi remedies are often used, especially during the cold seasons when illnesses are common, and our parents' parents also try heat-out tests. When parents realize that their child has been affected by the evil eye, they first do the red chili test.

They take five red chilies, rotate them over their child's head five times, and then burn them. It's believed that if a child has been affected by the evil eye, the chilies will turn black when burned. Besides this, they also use a black thread to protect their children from the evil eye, and there are many other remedies like tying threads and various other practices, although I don't remember all of them right now.

That's it from today's blog I hope you will like it. With best wishes ❤️. Now I like to invite @tammanna , @yenny47 and @sualeha to participate in this amazing contest.

Hay muchas culturas que creen en el mal de ojo y utilizan, diferentes métodos para librarse de ello, como es la del hilo rojo , lo he visto en muchos niños .Yo
personalmente no tengo esa creencias, pero respeto al que si la tiene.
