When people think of royal palaces, most think of opulent castles or huge mansions.

Not the case with the Ubud Royal Palace, where it's just has modest features and small in size.

The Ubud Royal Palace, while small is still pretty in its own right, with traditional Balinese architecture and statues. I think majority of tourists who visit Ubud would imagine that the royal palace is this opulent and grand place (perhaps similar to Angkor Wat) ... but when you come to visit this palace, it's not any typical palace you would imagine such as the extravagant Versailles Palace just outside of Paris, France.

Next to the Ubud Royal Palace is another temple with large pond with many water lilies. Indeed very beautiful.

Bali, while very commercialized and very touristy ... is still a place I always enjoy returning and visiting!
