Definition of plagiarism

This is the act where you present someone's work or idea as yours without their consent and without full acknowledgment. This act may be intentional, unintentional.

Types of plagiarism

Self-plagiarism

This is the process where a particular student submits his or her previously completed work without approval from the teacher involved.

Paraphrasing Plagiarism

Paraphrasing Plagiarism happens when you take out or edit another person's work and post it as your own work in order to avoid been caught.

Complete Plagiarism

This also happens when you copy another person's work and make it your own.

Ways to avoid plagiarism

We have so many ways in which someone can avoid plagiarism.

• Remember to give a reference or acknowledge the authors when using their work or contents.
• Always cite the source where you took the work from whether images or ideas to avoid plagiarism.
• Always be creative, give out good content.

Citation

Citation is letting your readers know where such information in your work came comes from a different source.

Types of Citation:

• Modern Language Association (MLA)
  *American Psychological Association(APA)
• Chicago/Turabian style

Why should we do citation:

• To lets, your reader know you did proper research about your content
• It's the right and proper thing to do.
• It makes your content look good and neat.
