According to data from the LocalBitcoins startup, bitcoin exchange figures in Peru in April show an increase close to 50% with respect to March. In addition, the bitcoin exchange service by local currency was also evident in Chile, where the main exchange houses are facing problems with some banking entities.

During the month of March, a total of 189 bitcoins were traded in Peru, for a total of 5,814,338 soles, equivalent to 1,787,619 dollars. The average weekly exchange rate for this month was 1,162,867 soles, with the second week of the month presenting the highest figure, with 1,291,420 soles.

In April, 281 bitcoins were exchanged, at a rate of 7,372,302 soles, that is, 2,265,487 dollars, which represents an increase of 26.79% in the exchange of Peruvian soles. The average was 1,843,075 soles, being the last week of April, with 2,189,075 soles, the largest exchange. This last figure (about 672,686 dollars) represents the largest weekly exchange volume so far. In such a way that the amount of bitcoins exchanged increased by 48.68% comparing the amounts of March and April.

For its part, Chile presented a convulsed March, given that some banks closed the accounts of the cryptocurrency exchanges in the country, which generated mistrust in the bitcoiners and a drop in the exchange figures. Thus, during the month of March, 74 BTCs were exchanged, for a total of 427,580,978 pesos, that is, 696,880 dollars. The weekly average was 85,516,195 pesos.

The figures for the beginning of March -113,889,160 pesos the first week- and those at the end of April show that the exchange trend in Chile continues, despite the conflict between the banks and the exchange houses. The difference in monthly volume means an increase of just over 12%.

In April there was a significant growth in the exchange figures. In this month the figures of Coin.dance show a volume of 481,879,549 pesos, for a total of 98 bitcoins, being the last week of April the highest volume registered, with a total of 150,370,453 pesos. The weekly average of the month was 120,469,887 pesos. In this country, some ATMs have the option of withdrawing the amount saved in bitcoin easily and conveniently.
