Trust: Birthed Through the Depth of a Nurtured Relationship
There are times in life when we feel so discouraged or even hitting the rock bottom seems the end of everything. As if there’s no more way out because we think we have already exhausted every way possible. However, our response matters a lot because it determines the aftermath of this breaking point.
“Why are you so cast down, O my soul and why are you in turmoil within me?” Does this question sound familiar? Each person has his or her unique stories concerning this question - through the journey or walk in life. The weight of your story, their stories, and mine are prompted by so many factors depending on where we are coming from. I, for one, asked this question with so much desire to fully understand the crippling and joy sucking emotion at hand. Not to mention, a way out because if not I’d end up losing my sanity.
For me to read this from an ancient book, I whispered to myself, “There must be a way out tested and guaranteed by these men and women who themselves have gone through these unwanted “moments” in life.” So let us continue reading.
The verse did not end with the question in mind rather it added,
“ Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him my Salvation and my God.” Hope in God? Hope is defined as a feeling of trust. To whom? To God? I bet it is so unrealistic to trust God if I don’t even know Him personally. Do you agree? Let’s have an example. If a stranger talked me into something that meant life and death concerning me, do you think I am so naive to trust him. I would say, “No way!” To entrust my life to someone that I don’t know regardless of his good intention (How do I even know?), I won’t dare. I believe that trust is birthed only through the depth of a nurtured relationship. So, is it not also true with God? I can only trust Him fully when I get to know Him personally. Allow me to restate my point: I believe that trust is birthed only through the depth of a nurtured relationship. Why am I giving emphasis on this? It is because of this - “...for I shall again praise Him my Salvation and my God.” Look, it says here that God is the Salvation. It is to say that He is the way out from the times in life when we feel so discouraged or even when hitting the rock bottom seems the end of everything.
You might tell me, “Well, maybe for you, not for me. I have overcome unwanted and threatening experiences on my own.” Then, I salute you for trying so hard. Therefore, all praises and glory are given to you. My question is, until when your intelligence and effort will keep you in your sanity? I hope, one day you’ll seek God as your salvation.Mind you, He is willing and able.
Thanks for reading and God bless you. ^_^
