NO FINESSE, JUST A FREEWRITE BUT IT IS A STORY

So today is one of those days where you only have a minute to take a breather. Since I had no planned post, here is something I pened just now where I am tryna be like @chinyerevivian. I hope y'all like it.

I met Eric when I was 18 and he was 25, we started out as friends and soon it became something more. He became my everything because I am not a social butterfly. I only go out when Eric is with me, and we are limited to particular spots because of his reputation and the nature of my job.

I work as a waitress while Eric is from a wealthy home, infact his family's wealth goes back to the first generation of people who settled here in Gracehill. Countless times he has asked me to stop working but I can't. I am independent and love working, I do not want him to see me as an obligation. So I go to work while also going to college but the only issue we have is the difference in our social status.

This doesnt mean anything to him but it means alot to me. I met his family once and the night ended up in a disaster. They see me as a cast off and a gold digger. This is why I am trying as much as I can to finish college and upgrade my life. So I can be proud of me and Eric too.

Today I am graduating college, yes after years of hardwork and pain. My only invite goes to Eric, but I can't see him in the crowd. So I walked up to the stage as my name was called to get my certificate. As the event comes to an end, I stee no signs of Eric.

I called but no response, so I decided to go to his office to see what held him back, on opening his door my heart shattered into bits . My Eric is gone and in its place is a cheat and a liar. So all this while I was just a girl from the wrong side of town he was toying with.
